Profile Cutting Formes

Profile Cutting Formes are a small but highly efficient die maker based in Essex. They are able to produce 8-10 cutting formes per day, all cut to a high level of precision and very well finished and all of this is with only Jim Cox, the owner, and one full time member of staff. They do this with the help of a Pacer 2500HD CNC router which has the special Die Maker software for cutting die boards.

Jim’s experience of using the machine over 6 years has proved extremely favourable when compared to the lower cost laser solutions. He is convinced that his die boards are of a higher quality and because the wood is not dried out, they can be re-ruled more often and more easily than laser cut boards.

 Jim said, "Its main advantage, apart from the speed is that you can start it cutting and then leave it running whilst getting on with other jobs. It’s literally like having one or two extra staff but without all the associated costs. I run the machine on average for 6-8 hours a day, sometimes 12 hrs”.

Lago Print Make Counters on a DieMaker

Lago Print is a printing and print finishing company based in the South of Germany. They needed a machine to bring their production of pertinax counters in-house to give them greater control and shorter lead times.

They are now using a 1250 Die Maker which runs almost 8hrs a day making counters for their cutting and creasing machines.
