Materials
The Die-Maker CNC router can cut all types
of rigid woods, metals and plastics. In the die cutting and die
making industry the main materials used will be birch faced plywood
from 9mm to 18mm thick, the D & D Knockout foam which is either
35mm (for blankers) or 52mm (for the male strippers) thick and
then the Pertinax or Steel counter plate which will be around 1mm
thick. Techniques for cutting these different materials will vary, for
example, how fast to cut, how deep to go in one pass, whether to
ramp into the material or to just plunge straight in and when and
how to use the cutter compensation and bend compensation. All of this information has been carefully collated by working closely
with customers and the material suppliers and we are able to recommend
ideal cutting conditions for best cut quality and also tool life. Where appropriate, special tooling has been developed to give the
best results on each of the materials used. |
